I have a manta green Cavalier coupe and I'm thinking about wheels... I don't like chrome at all... but I'm worried I will order some gunmetal wheels and they will clash with the paint. I'm not trying to make a show car but I don't want something ugly.
Any pics of this color car with new wheels?
Thinking it might look fine if I work in black elsewhere, like with a dark tint and blacked out lights, etc.
maybe gunmetal wouldn't look so bad...
Gunmetal would look fine. One of the better choices to go with Manta green in my opinion.
A second opinion was all I wanted... thanks...
What about a yellow hood and a red spoiler?
Just kidding.

Good tits or bad tits? I'm thinking it would be horrible. I don't like gold rims anyway.
Just haven't ever heard someone saying something looked tits...
heres a few the first is my old 4 door the second is erik or autocavbot99's old coupe and as you can see gold looks good

id say siver or gunmetal/hyperblack
but its your car... we cant tell you what you will or will not "get sick of" in the future; you have to like it
heres my manta sunfire with some some grey faced wheels with a polished lip... i dont think they look that bad... and i know it needs a drop
...
EYEOPNR, what size are those? I'm thinking I will go with 17s or 18s and not drop the car. I found these particular wheels that I like.... I've found lots on this site that I like, but are discontinued or don't come in my size, etc.
Now I need to learn about making sure they fit because it all confuses the hell outta me. But I'm pretty sure I'll be getting those.

I may be wrong, but if my memory serves me right, those would fit great.
Oh and that wheel is the MB Wheels Boost Design.
I was looking at it for my scort. I love those.
if those are the specs they will fit fine on jbodies.
i highly suggest you lower the car though if you get wheels. its going to look very silly if you dont.
Those are correct specs, and I did more reading after posting last night and found out they would fit fine. How wide are stock wheels?

I hope it doesn't look silly... I don't have tons of money to pour into my Cavalier. I mean, I really could but I don't see a point in spending thousands on it. If I got 17s with 225/45r17s it would be the stock total wheel size, so it should look fine??? Not like the Sunfire above with tiny wheels.
thats the thing, it will look like the stock wheels do however its more of an optical illusion. even though the overall diameter is the same, the tire side wall decreases as the rim size increases, this is going to give the car a lifted look. search around on this forum, you'll find plenty of people who have wheels with no drop and imo it doesnt look good at all.
Pics for reference of those wheels (borrowed from "The J-Z"). Gunmetal on red but still shows the look of them in 18s.

Oh and lower it first. It will look like a lifted 4x4 if you don't. Biggest thing I regret doing was wheels before drop.
