well going with smaller wheels is the dilemma im in, live on the east coast, canada and the roads are horrible, would like 17s, but thinking on 16s because of road conditions and such though, love the look of the wheels though even small , anything would be an improvment for me, new to the jbody scene and riding on steels and hubcaps right now lol

mine came on the car when i bought it bout 2 yrs ago. i looked to see how much they ran 15s run bout $100 each which is really cheap. they have held up really good just a few blemishes, but it could be from the chemicals that i used but didnt mean to get on the rims. well some jbodys came with 16's so go with 16s wont affect much suspension wise.

btw im still new been in the j scene for lil over 2 yrs still have alot to learn j's are pretty simple but some of of guys on here know every nut and bolt of jbody's.

100 each is cheap for 15s? not to mention american racing rims?

to use your roads as an excuse is just that. your just looking for an excuse. i use to drive through out some of the roughest roads in philly with potholes everywhere when i had 18s on my cavalier and i had no problem at all. its pretty simple. you see a pot hole, you either move over or slow down. hell even with 17s you have a thicker sidwall (45 series) which gives you plenty of room. im sorry if it came off as a rant but i just hate when people use that excuse.

Rough roads are no excuse. I live down a really rough dirt/gravel road, and the area where I live has some crazy potholes. My car was lowered on 17s and I wouldn't think twice about running larger wheels.

those wheels with that lip is gonna look ridicious is 16s sorry. 17s arent big at all and there is plenty of sidewall for the rims. look at all the people all over the country that drive on 20s. they manage to do it. 17s isnt the end of the world. honestly get what you want now because if you settle for something less your gonna regret it.

im not trying to force you to buy bigger wheels im just trying to get you to look at the options. i feel your gonna regret 16s when you get them. bad roads isnt really a reason to get small wheels. you just have to know how to drive and how to avoid things.

True! Same with lowering. For a long time I was afraid to lower my car because of the roads here, but finally gave in and dropped it 1.7". Now I'm wanting to go even lower. Trust me when I say you would be fine with 17s as long as you aren't trying to destroy them.
