so i was putting on my skirts earlier this week and realized that there was a screw in my rear tire. Luckily it wasn't leaking, so i took it to candian tire got a friend of mine to plug it for free.
after that i filled it up with air (around 5pm yesterday) and drove it 20 mins to soccer, then out for a drink afterwards and finally home
at quarter to six today my neigbour comes over and tells me that my tire is really low and that i should look at it....
so by the looks of things, the plug ain't workin! and i'm stuck driving my mom's [pimpin] saturn vue...am i wrong in assuming the plug just isn't working...or is there a leak in the tire? should i just take it back to my friend or take it to somewhere else (e.g. a tire-specific store, there is one close to my house)
If it wasn't leaking, why did you have it plugged?
That's like fixing what isn't broken.
Anyways, it sounds like your friend bought one of those do it yourself plug kits, they are junk. They leak, because they are string plugs and they don't set well.
Take it to a tire shop, a real one, tell them you have a string plug in there that needs to be replaced with a good plug AND patch. Make sure they know you want them to do both. Have them make sure there are no other leaks either, just to be safe.

Damnit for no edit..
If your friend works at Canadian Tire, it should have been done professionally.. even if for free. Did he take the tire off of the wheel to plug it?

yep he took it right off the wheel
I would call him up or something and ask him if he patched it then?
It's possible that you hit another nail or something then. Just by coincidence.. seen it happen before, but the customer got all pissed, said we missed it the first time and wouldn't pay for it. Go figure.

well i took it to the tire shop this morning for them to have a look at it...
all he did was give it a quick look over and noticed that apparently it was leaking very slowly from the sidewall and he just re-mounted the tire onto the wheel and made sure there was no leaks this time...so hopefully i am finished with it for now...thanks for your suggestions sean
u dont need to take the tire of the wheel. if you think the plug isnt working then fill the tire with air and spray soapy water over the plug. if it bubbles up then air is still coming out from the plug.
