Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and to j-body's in general, i just got my first 03 Cavalier about a month ago, and I love it.
I have been saving money to buy a new set of wheels, and it turns out i can get 19's for only 100$ more than i thought i was going to spend on 18's.
My question is, would a 225/35/19 cause any problems like rubbing or anything? or should i stick with the 225/40/18 i was originally going to get? My car isnt lowered yet, after reading all the suspension FAQs and stuff i have decided to save up for all new shock/strut assemblies instead of messing with lowering springs or anything like that.
If the 19's wont cause problems now, or when the car is lowered(i assume it will be about a 1.5 inch drop) then i will get them because they are a lot cheaper than i thought they would be.

sorry, forgot to add that they are 19x7.5, and i dont know the offset, i am trying to find it

Assuming the offset is right they should not rub at all. i know a few people around here that 19's on cavys, one is bagged and the other just has drop springs.
well first off 225/35/19 is for 19s and if you stick with 18s then yes get the 225/40/18
as for lowering you need new struts and springs to lower your car unless your talking about getting a full setup like the tein basics or the tein ss
Yes I agree, 18"s are better unless you are planing to do it for show. I had 18's before and its alittle better ride then the 19's I got.
im runnin 19s on a DD with b&g suspension and i love it, well in the summer time, doesnt rub
btw my tires are 215/35/19...bands
