I have an 02 Cavalier LS Sport with a 1.25 drop. I wanted to get these Falken Torque 5 rims. The rims are 18x8 with a 35 offset. Will these rub without any modifications??
depends on the tire you use. a 225 will probably rub in the front if you hit some good size bumps. I don't know if rolling the fender in the front would help much. a 215 might be better suited.
I run a 17x8 rim, +38mm offset with a 225-wide tire, and it's close in the front.

i run a 17x8 in front with a 235 wide tire no rubbing issues
I was going to get the 225-18-40. The ride is better with those tires & the speedo would be off about only -.5 mph.
i think you mean 225/40/18 and actually thats the correct size for 18s
Yes, you are right. I wasn't thinking when I wrote that..Thanks...

you will be fine im running 19's with 225 similar offset and no issues
Just a FYI..I bought today 18x8 Falken Torque 5 rims, 35 offset, with 225/40/18 tires on them. I put them on tonite and it was a perfect fit. No rubbing and good clearance on both sides of the rim & tire. The only problem was I had to have 6 tuner lugs cut off. The cheap tuner lugs I bought before stripped. Thank you all for the info. I will get pics and post them.
hey guys, when you say :: I run a 17x8 rim, +38mm offset with a 225-wide tire, and it's close in the front.
what is close in the front?? what is the tire close to?? also a higher + number means the rim is placed closer to the inside of the car or outside?

w/ a 38mm offset its probably close to the fender. the higher the offset the more the wheel sits in
whats a safe offset for us to run if we get bigger rims like 17's or 18's?
