Just like the title says, do you leave your good wheels on, or do you swap them out and put your stock steelies on? I have to take my car off the road by the end of the month since I am going back to college and I won't be able to play again till next spring.
Thanks in advance.
if u could take them off i would.. when i store my car i just leave my rims on but i am able to go move the car whenever i need so the tires dont get flat spots... once my 17's get here ill start storing the car on jack stands.
if u dont winter drive ur car or need to use ur stock rims/tires just store it with thos on...

yeh if u wont need to drive it at all just leave em on.. jack it up and sit it on stands..
i leave my rims on 12 months out of the year. i just roll it out of the garage once or twice a month and let it run in for a little while in the winter months.

Jacking the car up and letting it sit on stands just allows the suspension to droop and hang... not very good for it. It's best to let it sit on it's own weight.

But not for the whole winter or else your tires will develop flat spots.

No they won't. This really isn't a concern unless you're storing the car for a year or more. You won't get flat spots in the tires from having it sit for 5 or 6 months. Just ensure the tires are properly inflated.
I will probably just end up removing them becuase it needs to go to the paint shop next spring anyways and i DON"T want them to get paint on them in anyway. Steelies I could give 2 ratts asses. Its going to be sitting for probably a good 9-10 mos, so better safe than sorry. THanks guys.
To prevent flat spots, all you have to do is drive it every now and then and make sure the tires stay properly inflated, and you will have nothing to worry about. It's not that hard really.

Put the steelies on it , then flatten all the tires.
There you go , nothing to worry about

If your storing the car for the winter(3-4months), i leave the wheels on mine..just i inflate the tires to 60psi. There's no danger and reduces chances of flat spots. It's what they do on new cars being delivered to dealerships..before they under go the PDI, the tires are mass overinflated for such reason.
Storing on jack stands is a bad idea, unless your supporting the weight by the tables..etc. The bushing are tightend when the vehicle is at ride height, when you jack the car up from it's lifting spot, the bushing twist. It's ok for a short period of time, like when repairing..but for over a month will cause them to fault sooner.
jackstands bad idea... Hell my car sat for 9 months... no problems.. Cheap or really soft tires may get some flat spots, but after it is driven for a few miles it will be fine...
