All-right guys, I just bought myself some motegi ff7's:
18 inch X 7.5
Offset: +45
Backside: 6
Tires came with it, Hankook Ventus HRII H405 235/40R/18
I am currently lowered with the Gravana Coilovers, sitting with a little more than 1 finger width of wheel gap in the front.
When I mounted these tires on the front, the ride well in the straights, but I end up rubbing fender in the curves.
Did I buy myself the wrong size rims?
Thanks,
Sorry... I took the rims back off before getting any good pictures.... and all the pics of my car are old, as in before I lowered the rear end.
I can try to get pics in the next day or two, after I get my digicam back.
Thanks,
running a 235 may be the problem, the car was made to run on anywhere from a 205 to a 225 at the very most (i'd say). a 235 may be risky.

^^ the problem is not with tire height... it is with the width/offset.
The most accurate for my speedometer would be a 225, but at a difference of .6-.7 MPH, I am not too concerned.

My stocks were 195's, so I doubt the car is made to run on that specific of a range. The trick is maintaining a specific overall diameter.
I will try to get pictures up soon, but I already took the Gravana CO's off, and am riding on stock suspension without a problem.
The car was designed to handle and carry itself and it's passengers the best with a 205 or 215, that's why i said that a 225 would be the biggest i'd go with is a 225, a 245 is just a little big.

scratch that last bit, i meant to say 235 not 245

The problem is your offset combined with tires that are too wide for the wheel (those tires should be on an 8" wide wheel at least).
You need a lower offset wheel if you want to run 235's. Because your offset is so high (+45) your wheels are sitting too far inside the wheel wells. You'd need about a +35 to fit those tires. Also your tires are too high profile, you should be running 235/35-18's if you wanted 235's at all.
My suggestion, get a set of 225/40-18's, you shouldn't have any rubbing issues.
oops... thanks for pointing that out.
I didn't realize that the tires were to wide for the wheel.... crap....
That's exactly what information I was looking for.
thanks for the information 20Rob05.
But I don't have to worry about tire rub, as I am back to stock suspension.
Guess I gotta get 4 new tires...
