I want to upgrade to 225 50 16 from 205 55 16 will the tires rub on the inside of the wheel well? thanks
ive got them on my 97 , not a problem
Yep, friend of mine has them on Sportlines, he loves 'em. Look a lot beefier too.
I got the falken zeix 512 225/50/16's to replace my Eagle RSA 205/55/16's.
The first tire was REAL hard to get on the rim, we had to get like 3 people with pry bars along with the tire machine to get the damn tire on... and then a little above 70PSI to pop the tire into place, lol..
the 2nd one went on no problem though. They handle GREAT, feel GREAT !

I'm rollin on 225/50/16 and never have had a rub problem. Course, right now, my car's not dropped... we'll have to see next year.
What are the benifits from running this larger size tire?

Spec Stage 2+ Clutch
Wider contact patch, more grip. It also looks mean. Thats what I am going to when I need tires.

Shouldn't be a problem at all, I race on 225/50/15's for autocross, lowered about 2" on koni sport kit and I don't have any clearance issues

Sleeper style, they don't see it coming that way.
225 50 r16 are good on sportline kits for the 04 cav then????
or is it a little different.
i had 225/50/r16's on my sunfire with sportlines and D-specs and it was excellent no clearance probs all go for it
The tires rubbed bad by the way
