2002 chevy cavalier, 4 speed auto, 2.2L,
150,000 miles....
The car's check engine light and traction
control light come on every so often.
When they do the car will shake from 0-15mph, and sometimes it doesnt seem to
want to take the gas. Ya know like if im
wanting to pass someone, it takes a
couple extra seconds to accelerate like it
should. If those warning lights are not on
it drives great.
So i hooked up scanner and the only
code i get is
P0742. I changed the filter and fluid a few
weeks after this started, an cleared the
code. It seemed to help, light didnt come
on for almost a week. But its back to
coming on atleast once a day.
All this started back in august, it doesnt
bother me much, cuz it usally acts up
only once a day and it isnt bad. But
thinking about selling to get a bigger
vehicle, and want it fixed so i can get top
dollar for the car.
I have read that it could possibly be one
of the solinoids, i know they're internal.
You may have a TTC release switch thats bad.
