My car is automatic and has the saab kit on it. I've had it boosted for around 2k miles. Get it on the dyno at the bash and I was hoping for decent numbers. Everything is going, then the numbers start showing. 134 whp, 120, 105... something is wrong. The guy who ran it stated the fact that my torque converter may be dying. I do not feel that I've abused my transmission and was wondering if anyone could chime in on symptoms/signs that's it done. There are other possible causes for this lack of power to the wheels, but I wanted to make sure it wasn't a tranny breakage. It doesn't feel the same power wise (I can tell the car doesn't move the way it did 2 months ago). Any help is appreciated!
Hey man, that sucks, Im not a tranny professional, but it sounds like it could be. Your TC does what its name says, take a little bit of energy and makes it a little more. Now dont quote me on that, but I think Im in the right direction. Goodluck tho. If it helps I have a 04 Ectoec tranny For sale now with TC, that ran great, 40k on it, and im in chicago. 200 is what im asking. Goodluck buddy!
Thanks for the help guys. Mike I'm going to consider buying the transmission then building it. Madjack I'll try what you say first but from what I can tell and what another member who rode in my car have it down to the tc. If I get on it the tranny slips and such. My transmission still works fine, there's just no power. So I'm going to keep in contact with you for help on this topic. Thanks again!
