Greetings,
I've got a question for you all. I've searched a good bit but can't find an answer. There's a nipple that comes out of the top of the valve body on my TH125C - It's from a 1988 Grand Am SE. It comes out just behind the detent cable. I nabbed a couple of pictures from the netz and circled what I'm talking about in red.
This port is capped on mid engine RWD variants of this transmission, so I'm unfamiliar with where and why this goes anywhere. Anything forthcoming information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks dudes!
-Paul
It looks like a nipple for a vent tube? Maybe someone else will know for sure though...
Wagonwes,
That's exactly what it is! I made a trip to the local auto recycling yard today, partly to confirm what this damn tube is for. It connects to a piece of hard line on the fender of most J-bodies, probably to insure clean cool vent air. You'd think there would be some mention of this SOMEWHERE. Anyway, thanks for the stab, and good guessing.
No problem. The 4T65 in my GTP had the same setup, it was vented through a 3 foot rubber hose. So it wasn't a complete shot in the dark, lol.
