Is there anything besides the LSD or the LSD inserts that can be done to "build" the f23 transmissions? I am picking up Jarett's Ion F23, and will change the case halves with the one on my car. The Ion trans only has 7200-7500 miles on it. So I think its a good investment to swap for mine with 85000+ on it.

ive wondered the same thing b/c i want to build one for my cav. my 3rd gear synchro grinds and is getting harder and harder to go into gear. most of the time it wont even go. so i'd like to buy one and build one also. i've tried to search for f23 builds and internals and all but couldnt find anything. that does sound like a good investment though. low mileage on it should def be a plus.

Why replace it if it isn't broke? 85K means nothing really if its still working fine??????? Unless your making RIDICULOUS power the F23 is fine in its stock form. Just don't be jamming gears at 6500+ RPM and you will be fine. Even the best built Diffs will give under wheel hop which is what seems to be the number one killer on these. As far as the gears themselves they are pretty stout. Synchros are pretty easy to replace so................
