I had my tranny fluid changed about a month ago and soon after it started to feel like my tranny was slipping between second and third, the rpms would go up and down a few times and then kick back to normal. It seems to happen more when im going uphill or have more weight in the car. Is this a sign of a bad torque converter or is my tranny going. Also the converter is an aftermarket Yank 3k stall with about 40k miles on it.
I also read on another post that you need to add fluid to the converter itself seperate from the regular fluid, Is this true if so how is it done?
yes you need put fluid in the TC itself
last i checked it should be about 8-9 quarts in the tranny itself and about 2-3 in the TC but dont quote me on that
also you may need your car/tranny really tuned for the TC
