After a brief search nothing turned up. I have a 99 2.2 OHV with the izuzu 5-spd tranny. i had a mechanic replace the transmission and put a new clutch in. his work was less than great, but he did get it done. he found a tranny out of a GT swapped bell housings and put in a new clutch. he didnt put in the sychromesh fluid i gave him and told him to put in(still havent got around to changing that out). when i got the car back it was making funny noises, i found he left a motor mount COMPLETELY unbolted. Fixed the motor mount and the clanging noise stopped, but now when the car is in idle it rattles (kinda) when you press the clutch in it stops. it makes noise most of the time but not always. any help is appreciated.

hmm just an idea but release bearing? strange that i is intermittent though.... does it do this when when your sitting neutral? or just when shifting?

neutral almost always, i dont know about when im driving on the road, i got dual magnaflows cant hear much.

yea my bet would be a bad release bearing.... you can live with it until it completely goes...
