hey guys, so i was driving mycar last night... treating it rough as usual and i got what i deserved.... i blew my clutch.. its a z24 and has he stock clutch and stock izzui tranny.. im curious if anyone knows any tricks to see wether the transmission is blown as well.. when the car is on and i push the clutch in fully i cannot get into any gear and the clutch pedal feels soft.. when it happened i had smoke or steam comming off of the transission right where the shifter is on top of the tranny.
Any advice is helpful befor i put a bully clutch in and realize the trany is blown aswell.
thanks!
you may have killed the trans, but i would check a few things first since i did something similar. First try to move the shift levers manually on the trans, if they do not move then i would look in to getting it rebuilt stronger since u like to beat on it. secondly it could be the cables, once i was shifting really fast and had not giving the shifter enough time to fully shift the trans and it stretched the shifter cable, a very small amount but enough that it would not properly shift anymore, the trans was stuck in between gears. My guess is that i bent a fork in the trans, so i just replaced it. A used trans for ur car is not expensive, and replacing it is not hard though it is time consuming. i have taken my trans out about 3 times now so it takes me around 4 hours to do it, and swap the clutch and flywheel
if it can't win a race it better win a show
