I have a 98 Cavalier, 2.2 OHV, with the manual. First of all the clutch pedal is really low, like when your brakes are getting worn. It was low on fluid but that didn't help. Also It is kinda hard to shift gears sometimes, and recently first gear has been hard to get into. I was think the clutch is going, but I'm not sure. I work as a mechanic, but my shop doesn't do major engine or transmission work. The car has 156,000 on it, and its probably the original clutch and such. The clutch doesn't slip under hard acceleration or hills...so whats my next step ?
I haven't tried that yet..but that's what I'm gonna do first, because its one of the easiest things to do.
another thing that may do that would be your clutch master cylinder my car was doing the same thing, i also bleed the clutch it worked as a temp. fix but the problem came back if this happens to you just change the master cylinder
Yea...I haven't got around to bleeding it yet. I live in northeastern PA. It's been super cold. Also im a college student, so I'm low on time. I should get a change this week. Thanks !
