should there be any play in the axle when i pull and push on it be back ive got a noise when i go over bumps or hit my brakes at low speeds like in a parking lot also it is a clunk type noise..

Low speed noise is not generally from an axle. A bad axle usually causes a rapid clicking noise when turning or when the inner joint is bad it will cause a higher speed vibration when accelerating.
The noise you have is probably a brake pad noise. Typically from cheap pads that aren't made to the exact oem shape which causes the backing part of the pad to clunck on the part where the pad rests on.
ok thats what i thought cuz i have slotted rotors and my pads need to be replaced oh and would you know what size the bit is to get the caliper off and if slotted rotors can be turned?
