oh and i am using synthetic tranny fluid btw.

your trans is meant to have atf in it. i've been changing the synchromesh in my isuzu every year, but i would say 3 years/120k is past time to change.

if its still a hint of red i would. Do you know what burnt trans fluid smells like? if you do and the fluid smells bad, i would leave it be and save for a new tranny. If its not bad i would go ahead and change it. I did mine when i bought it with 148,000 miles and im pretty sure it has never been changed till i got it, still running fine at 150K *knock on wood*.
