Any news?
Sunday, October 19, 2008 7:33 PM
I was wondering if anyone had heard any rumblings from GM about a possible 6-speed manual that will work in a FWD setup with the Ecotec. I heard a rumor one might be in the new Malibu's but the dealership told me they are all going to be auto's... So, if anyone hears anything, please let me know... I want a 6-speed...

There's a 6 speed automatic in the works for sure. Very unlikely you'd ever see a 6 speed manual FWD trans out of GM.

there's a few getrags that are used in saabs that may be a swap in for our ecotecs that are 6 speed

the F28 I think its called. nobody knows for sure if it work cuz nobody's actually tried it.

if you did an F35 swap from an LSJ they have a conversion kit for 6 gears but its expensive as hell.

Get all the parts you need in a pile, and drive the car into it.
They will find their way into the correct places.

Don't guess there would be any way to mount a tranny for a 6 cyl to a 4 cyl would there? Specifically, that tranny?
