so according to this site
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Getrag_F23_transmission
the f23 can only handle up to 155 ft·lb of torque. i know, wikipedia is unreliable and ussually untrue, so im taking this with a grain of salt, but if this WAS true, does this mean taht adding as little as 6 ft·lb to an ecotec engine over-powers the transmission? or is this just a cover your ass thing by getrag/GM saying it can only hold up to that much?
im quite versed in engines, but never really spent alot of time on the transmission aspect of learning cars, so this really is something i would like teh answer to.
thanks

Get all the parts you need in a pile, and drive the car into it.
They will find their way into the correct places.
Well considering that I've personally put 301WHP/300+lb/Ft through the stock F23 and Adam Hahn has put down over 500WHP....you decide.
I used to race cars, now I race myself.

Its rated for about 170-175 ft-lbs.
I hate it.
yeah, there are several high HP builds with that getrag with little/no problems.
its a very solid tranny.
kinda like Ru Paul.
Not sure where they got that number from either. I would also agree they can hold waaayy more tq than that as evident by many on here.
