ok let start off with say the i drive a 2001 Chevy Cavalier z24 with a 2.4 and 5 speed, 110000, and there are no mods done at this time. now with that out of the way lets start with the problem. the problem started about a month ago, i came out of walmart and when to go home and as i was leaving the parking lot i noticed that there was a clicking noise in the motor so i called my dad who is an ase cert. masters machine who works for a gm dealer at first he thought that it was the timing chain and guide but after further examing we determed that if was moring coming from the cams. so we were getting ready to pull the motor apart when my dad brought home his steathascoop so hopefully pin point the noise and you can only hearing with the stetoscoop on the starter and bell housing...any ideas or anyone have a problem.

if the car has sat like 8 hours when i start it up it take like 5 mins before i hear the noise. this doesnt matter if im moving or not even in neutural you still here it. when im at a lower speed you hear it more but when im at a higher speed you barely hear it . but after the noise starts in constant
