This uphill never-ending battle is really really starting to get to me.
3 years ago I bought a Spec Stage 3 from RSM. They sold me an Ecotec clutch for my LD9 in LD9 packaging, assured me it was the right clutch, and I put it on. It burned out within 2800 km searing my new flywheel.
Spec sent me a new LD9 stage 3 after I sent mine to them... they told me RSM had sold me the wrong clutch. I got to pay for a new flywheel and labour. yay.
Fast forward to this season. The clutch now has about 7000 km on it. 700 km from the stock motor that puked, 3000 km from the first built motor, and 4000 km on this one. Thats roughly 4200 miles.
A few weeks ago my throwout bearing started to squeal... almost like a bad belt. This lasted 2 days... and it quieted down to a "chirp" when I let the clutch out. The pedal felt normal... I wasn't sure what it was but was hoping it wasn't too serious.
Last week my car started to get a bit tough to get into gear here and there. Sometimes it was fine... sometimes it didn't want to go into 2nd, 3rd or 4th while driving.
This past Wednesday as I was pulling into my work parking spot (thank god) the pedal suddenly felt TERRIBLE... I pushed it in to downshift and the pedal felt VERY weak, and I could feel the clutch through the pedal clearly. A very bad vibrating feeling... the pedal went dead for a split second... then rebounded.... went to push it in to put it into gear... nothing. no gears.
I shut the car off, and tested the shift linkage at the shifter and at the trans. Goes into all gears with the car off just fine. Whew.
Fearing a slave failure, I let the car sit... for 24 hours.... (yes at work).... in that time it didn't lose a drop of fluid and didn't leak anything onto the ground other than the usual oil leak near the turbo drain.
Figuring it was the master, I towed it home, got a new one from a friend, and put it in. BEFORE I removed the old one, I went to bleed the clutch... the fluid dribbled out. no squirting... no force... a dribble.
I took out the old master, put the new one in... bled it... same issue. A dribble.
When my friend was pumping the clutch I could see the feed line and bleed line from the TOB moving in the trans... so I KNOW it's actuating.
The pedal when the car is off feels like a bad bleed job, but it rebounds and moves up and down just fine. Doesn't get stuck on the floor. When I turn the engine ON... the pedal feels MUCH weaker... almost lifeless... it still rebounds but when the engine is on you can feel the clutch vibrate clearly through the pedal.
2 days later it still hasn't leaked a drop of fluid.
Any ideas? I'll be dropping the trans tomorrow to get a look... I'm almost thinking the pressure plate quit or the damn friction disc popped a spring. It wouldn't be the first time we've seen this.
If it's the clutch.... I'm going to be livid. I'm not sure if I can make Ohio now.
Has anybody had just a slave do this to them? I plan to remove the trans, inspect the slave, remove the pressure plate and friction disc and inspect them. But of course, any ideas would be very very helpful.
Thanks.

I have no idea what you're talking about Brad.
I found an issue, yes. I'm not sure if it's related to the clutch or the transmission or the engine or the stereo system.
Nothing really specific to report. That is all.

Pretty much anything that could go wrong with an tranny/clutch, did go wrong.
TOB, clutch springs, screwed pressure plate etc etc etc
... dude don't give him false hope that I had an issue with the clutch or trans. There really isn't a diagnosis.
We simply found the problem. Can't quite tell what it is or what caused it or what is even faulty... so I really can't point you in any direction.
I'll try to have it fixed in time for Ohio.

The problem most definately is not what you may think it might be... but it sure could not be what you might think it is.
