th125c temp gauge

has anyone installed a temp gauge in there 3spd? im looking to install one in mine but i couldn't find a plug like the one on the 4spd? anyone have any ideas?

The test port plug is located between the TV cable and the drivers side trans mount. It will give you the temp reading of the fluid coming out of the pan through the pump. Thats where mines hooked up.

Man, I have to look between my living room wall and my trans mount.....thats a lot of ground to cover.....

yea i got an auto. mad jack what temp do you see normaly and what would be considered high? i just got my gauges from summit and there going in tommor.

I've got the Yank 3000 rpm stall TC and a tranny cooler, during the summer heat in traffic I run about 160-175 degrees (F). 205+ is normally considered high, but I would recommend kepping it down to about 180. The cooler temps will significantly prolong the life of the tranny. You don't want to go too low either, moisture can build up in the tranny, causing damage. I would say I'm running boaderline low.

ok when you put in your tranny cooler did you just ditch the lines to the rad and use thoese for the tranny cooler?

I used the brass fittings to adapt the stock lines to the hose barb. I don't remember what size they were.

well i just got my guage installed to night and im running 210 constently so looks like i need a tranny cooler....
