Well a lot of speculation has been flying around about transmission inserts for the front NVG trans mount. People want one made. They're stuck with the rubber one. blah blah blah.
I just want to let you know I hand-lathed one down for myself tonight and put it into the NVG mount and installed it on the car. Went flawlessly.
NVG inside diameter with a caliper was 7 5/16 cm..... I lathed the Isuzu mount (originally 8 9/16 cm) to 7.5 cm and lathed a little off the smaller lip and squeezed it in using a hobby clamp and a hammer.
I used a Prothane transmission insert with the "holes" in it and bolted it to a drill, then used a clamp to hold down a somewhat coarse wood/plastic file to my workbench and went to town, checking with my caliper every 30-45 seconds. Worked flawlessly and NO it doesn't break into the holes.
If you are concerned, go with the TTR solid insert and lathe it down to 7 5/16 cm...
Ghetto? Sure... I don't own a lathe but I found a way to spin the mount and shave material off it in a controlled fashion. That's all lathing is. Not everybody has access to a willing machine-shop.
I just wanted to let you guys know who are waiting on an alternative that will NEVER come... this is a viable and workable solution. You don't even need a machine shop. Just a long 3/8" bolt (to fit in the drill chuck) 2 washers and 2 bolts... a file, a drill and a caliper. Done... honestly just take your time and it's fine.
Just thought I'd put this post out there for people who search in the future. I mentioned this 3 years ago and nobody has listened... so I did it by HAND myself tonight in my garage and the result is flawless. The only improvement would be to go with the solid TTR mount without the holes that prothane puts in. I plan to fill those with urethane just for some extra strength.
Hope this helped all you guys.

it has been known cuz I have had this done for three years yet you guys keep calling for an NVG insert GP for no godforsaken reason.
While it has been "known" nobody has known the width to lathe it to or even attempted to do it themselves. I gave a method.
I didn't see you stepping up to do the same, Chris. Now you know how you can do it in your own garage for your Beretta. So there you go.
You people bitch and moan that nobody makes products for your rare parts and somebody tells you how you can do it yourself and your response is that it's a known fact. I believe I saw your name on the TTR NVG tranny insert list... meaning you hadn't done this for yourself. Now you can.
You're welcome.
