tranny swap

alright so im new here. just got my cav about a month ago.
everything is stock but i want a stick.
how hard would it be to swap from an auto to a 5 speed? how much do you think it would cost?
thanks for your help guys. really apperciate it.

Well its alot of work its really not worth it unless you do motor swap and don't know how much it would cost but you would need the pedels for sure and you would have to have a diff tranny and have to have your ECM reprogramed for a 5spd Sorry

its not all that bad to do a tranny swap. everything you need you can get from the junk yard and get whatever else from the parts stores. the main part of it is unbolting the auto trans, bolting up the manual one, you need to get the manual trans mount that has to get welded to the side of the frame, get the manual pedal set up, shifter, cables, clutch, clutch reservior, and you could probably get the new ecu for it as well from the junk yard. i might be missing something but its pretty easy to do. have fun and if you have any questions just email me. it may take me a couple days to respond because im still in iraq.

see im on the same page with you but i used the search button and i got this link http://www.j-body.org/faq//101/ so i know alittle bit about doin it . the only diff is that i was doing it on a veedub and not a chevy. so i hope this helped
