I currently am doing a swap to my 1997 Cavalier Z24. Here's how it is. I had a 2.4L in this cavalier swapped to a Built 2.2L and put a 6speed from a 2006 Pontiac G6 GTP MT, this transmission was $500 Brand New Never Used. Transmission is turning I believe I have all my measurements right. I'm approx. 95% done but I need axles. I'm have problem finding the inner cv's that slide into the transmission I need those to have my axles made. Can anyone help on where I can get those without buying the whole axle.
But I do believe this F-40 transmission will fit on the 2.2L 3.1L and the 3.8L. My friend is doin one on a malibu 03' with a 3.8L. But tell me what you think for the cavalier tho.
Find axles for the G6, and measure the length of them, diameter of the shaft, compare them to J-body axles, and see if you can mix/match till you get the right combo..... otherwise looks like your going to need custom axles needed.
I've been trying to convince my dad to do this swap on his Fiero, would be bad ass with his built 3400/3500 Turbo engine.

Man i wish i could do this on my 2200
Well i plan on doing a 3800 swap in my cavalier when i get back from WyoTech and i was wondering how your buddy is coming along with his swap?? I really really would love to have a 6spd in my cavalier instead of a 5spd
I've been trying to find info on this swap for a while as well. I'm confused as to what flywheel and clutch combo to use. Also, did you have to use the G6 Shifter asembly, linkage, master cylinder, pedal and everything else?
I need more info on this swap....... sounds cool
I think the G6 clutch, and a stock flywheel for the engine, machined down the the thickness of a G6 flywheel, would work. Not sure though. Please post more info on your progress.

I know some time later it's almost done, but It is in the car and does drive. I am making a supercharger box for a supercharger from a bonnieville the 3.8L. That supercharger is rated for 2.0L to a 4.0L, so pully sizing should take down the boost for a 2.2L.. My one issue right now is making an aluminum intake manifold plate, but its in the works I've been using solidworks and designing it. I also used solid works to make the axles I needed for the swap. The motors 180 out on the plugs and injectors right now for me to drive it. It drive like a stock 2.2L though even though it is a build motor I did evey thing except the crank. The computer is tuned for the forced air system. Backfire's alot and won't start when its hooked up like stock though. So I will get my pictures uploaded within the next few weeks I gotta find them all.
I'll be in touch.
