How can I find out what trans came in my car from the factory?

I checked the VIN Decoder FAQ...not there...

I have a 2001 Z24 and the VIN on the PCM doesn't match the VIN on the chassis....my car might've been swapped from auto to stick, what it is currently. any ideas to tell?

I think I told you this in AIM...

Just look to see if the auto mount was cut off the frame rail. If it was, you have a trans swap, if it wasn't, then you don't.

umm....... look on your options label on your spare tire cover (and match the vin on the sticker to the car while your at it).

SWEET, i knew there was a "less crude" way to check....

and yes, what I hoped, my car does have the M86 option
