I bought a 2001 getrag f23 from a grand am and i was comparing it to my broken tranny from my 04 cavalier and the bellhousing side of the case are differnt. The f23 from the grand am does not have the same bolt pattern as the one from my ecotec.
My question.. are the internals of the trannys the same? So i can maybe swap the half of the case onto the new trans and bolt it up to my car?

Its probably from a 2.4 then... internals are exactly the same.

So i should just swap the internals out and it should be good to go? Obviously replacing all the bearing and seals though. correct?

Yeah, they should just swap right over, definitely never re-use gaskets or seals, they are too cheap to risk using again.
