I know that a grand am isn't a j-body, but after seeing some guys put the 3400's in their cavies with 5 speeds, I was wondering if that transmission could be swapped in to a 99+ grand am. Anybody seen this done or know of a site or forum that talks about it? I know they come with a 4cyl/5spd combination, so it'd be easy enough to make the interior stuff work. And is there a decent aftermarket for the 3400? or does customization of them require some DIY engineering?
