so i've been having a very intermittent problem with my clutch. sometimes when i engage the clutch it decides not to engage fully and i can't shift the car into any gear. if i let the car sit for a while it's fine, sometimes if i slam the clutch to the floor it works fine too. when it works fine there's no problems/noises or anything else that would seem wrong with it. today i tried to bleed it (need to do it again anyway) and it was fine. put over 150 miles on it and it worked fine. got it home and went to park back on the street and it happened again. has anyone tried a vacuum bleed on a clutch? i think it's just a problem with air in the lines but if it made it to the slave i've been told it needs to be pressure fed back up to the master
anyone have any input on it?
Don't you bottom out?
- Yes I do
I had this problem but I had to bleed my slave out monthly and then it started to get worse and then it was weekly and then finally it just wouldn't hold any pressure. So it sounds like the slave cylinder is leaking slightly and it is letting air in so you get a air pocket. You will most likely have to replace your slave cylinder.
