just out of curiosity, how many people had to replace this seal on there trans? (4 speed automatic)
thats a pic with the seal already removed. reason im asking because i have a feeling this isnt normal. ive had to replace this seal 2 times in 101 K.
let me know if this is A.) normal and B.) why/what would make this seal fail? twice?

One tranny i just sold had 59K miles, no issues. The new one has 40k miles... no signs of leaking. Possibly a bad seal the first time you've changed it or the mating surfaces had something on them to cause an improper seal.
well, the part that slides over the CV and inside the seal showed signs of wear, and thats why it was leaking. my question, why would that part wear out? especially 2 times in 101000?
