so i misshifted the yesterday. not too bad, i caught it before i let it all the way out.

but now, in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear above 3k RPM it makes a whining noise when i push on the gas.

its ONLY in those gears and ONLY when i push on the gas. its not when im coasting, its only when i push the gas pedal down a little.

my friend thought it was low on fluid and the whine was the noise of the gears. i dont know, i wanted to get some better help from the forum.
what are my options? if its bad how long can i drive like this?

its a 98 z24 manual tranny. i can still put it in all the gears just fine and there is no grinding

new update:

the noise only makes it between 2k and 3k rpm in ANY gear. and only when i push on the gas....when coasting it is silent...

any ideas? eveything looks normal under the car.....could it be the axle?
