well, after receiving a radiator for a manaul tranny, and me having an auto, i now have to add a tranny cooler. ordered the cooler, and wondering if i need to get a tranny temp gauge also? i figure i will regardless, just wondering if it is an absolute must now with the cooler.

Not a must now any more than it ever was. Your new cooler should in theory cool better than being interwoven with the radiator. As long as its a good one
I would say no but couldn't hurt.
