My 95 Cavelier has this little plug on the right hand side of the driver side and my transmission is a 5 speed manual by the way and im trying
to put fluid in it but don't know if this little plug is where i put the fluid in. Here's pic
My auto trans has a cap similar to that in the same spot, i am fairly certain it is a fill plug. The best thing would be to remove the plug and see if transmission fluid is under it.
