i got a 98 z24 5 spd, the clutch is starting to slip when i speed shift but otherwise its fine, but soon im going to put a new clutch in it, i was thinking about getting a ACT 4 puck clutch are them any good or should i go with a 6 puck, my car isnt all the way stock, i just have upper/lower mounts, AEM alt pulley, cold air intake, pacesetter header with full exhaust no cat. what kind of clutch would be best for a daily driver, sometimes i get on it pretty hard and race occasionally
thanks
Go for the 6 puck. In my opinion the 4-pucks are more trouble than there worth and are not enjoyable for daily driving you'll be much happier with a 6-puck unless your planning on running over 350HP or so, you should also think of putting in a lightweight flywheel as you'll have it apart and should regrind the stock one when replacing the clutch. Just skip that step and get them both. Also if you can get them replace the flywheel bolts as well, they can be re-used but its safer to replace them.

I'm using a Spec stage 3, w/ Mantapart aluminum flywheel (Fidanza and Spec would work better)
nooooo problems! Except for the flywheel.. Friggin Mantapart phone support is a joke. I could never get a call back after 2 weeks and 8 calls I gave up. So I had to mess with it myself.
I guess I can't say if ACT is going to be good or not. I have heard more negative about ACT then Spec, but I guess with anything there's always going to be a level of dissatisfaction. If you're comfortable with ACT then go with them, but if you're just going off of other people's experiences.. I would opt for Spec..
