I just purchased a 2000 Z24 Cavalier. My old car is a 97 Z24 Cavalier. I had purchased a custom built clutch that I never got around to installing on my 97Z.
IF I swap out the flywheel in my 2000Z to the flywheel out of a 95-98 with the Isuzu transmission, then I can use the clutch that I had built for my 97 correct? Is there anything else that would have to be changed or modified to make my Isuzu clutch fit in my 2000Z?
Can anybody tell me the differences in the two transmissions such as gear ratios, weight, strength, ect.., other then the clutch and flywheels are different? (or can you @ least point me in the right direction so that I can find out the differences)
I done some searching around the org. and came up with the following info. concerning my question about the differences in the transmissions.....
Axles, same
Clutch Hydraulics, different
Cables & shifter, different
mounts, different
mount brackets, different
mount inserts (prothane), same
Clutch & flywheel, different
Is this info correct?
If so, then it is saying that I can use my Prothane transmission mount insert for my 2000Z that I had purchased for my Isuzu Z but never installed?
