hey guys I have a 96 sunfire with the b and m short throw,

I have been having problems shifting from first to second at high rpms (3500+)

it will usually give resistance when I go to pull it into second, and if I try anf force it in it will grind unless I give it like a second or two and then pull it in

any ideas guys, I searched and saw the post about the b and m where u need to remove more material, tried it, didn't help,. any other ideas

broken synchro . time to pull the tranny apart. Good way to test would be to double clutch and see if there is no grinding. If no grinding, its a synchro.

Mine sometimes wont go into 3rd, its rare now, but used to a lot before, it wouldnt go, no grind, just like hitting the gate or something, new clutch, and now if i double clutch when it doesnt go it fixes it.
