I just installed this on my 2000 Z24 using the directions from the forums. I was just wondering if anyone elses traction light comes on when it is turned on. If i have it switched to off the light does not come on but when it is switched on it lights up. Was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?
Yup, that will happen! On setting one I can sometimes go miles before it turns off the traction and the light comes on and sometimes it comes on rigt away. Setting two makes my trac light come on immediately every time. This is normal, but I usually don't turn mine on if it's raining really bad or there is a ton of snow since I'd rather have the traction than the quick shift!
Good luck and enjoy!
How about this one, my check engine light comes on. I disconnected the negative terminal to reset the computer, well that did work. Only until I ran the car again. So the check engine light is on, and I want it off but I do not want to take the kit off. Also this morning, the check engine is on, and I really can barely tell that the kit is working. I had it in setting 2, and it felt like setting 1. I started the car and then put it in setting 2. Does anyone know how I can get the check engine light to turn off with out removing the kit?, and can you start off in setting 2 or should I be starting in setting 1, then set it to setting 2 if I want to use setting 2?
go to autozone, they will scan and clear codes for free

Thanks Jayson, I will stop by there on my way home this afternoon. I have one about a mile away from my house. Anyone have answer to the other question though? Should I start driving in setting 1 and then go to setting 2 if that is the setting that I want to be using or could I just start in setting 2?
Got back from auto zone, the guy there told me that even though that I cleared the code, it may come back. Oh well, at least it is gone for at least now, hopefully it will not come back. I also figured out the reason why it has a soft transition into gear after start up, duh, it needs to build up pressure before the shift plus will start acting right. But I do need to get it connected properly, but that is going to have to wait until I can get a sodering gun, or borrow one from some one, unless we have one at work.
Well I went on line for GM Transmissions and this is what I found out about why my check engine light keeps coming on. I did not realize it at first, but now it makes sense to me. If that sensor gets wet then the sensor is no longer any good. Now this fix is going to be a PITA since the wires right there are so short. I have to replace that sensor because it did get wet, just did not think that the inside of it got wet. Since I have not heard of anyone else on here having that problem with the check engine light coming on as mine is. I thought that I would check to see what I could find on line with GM. That is what I found out. Now I have to find out how much the sensor is going to be, get it, and then replace it. Not to mention get the connectors to do it. This is going to be a big PITA. My fault for being stupid and not totally paying attention to what I am doing.
by the sencor do you mean the plug that you disconnecte while wiring the shiftplus in.
if your check engine light is coming on, then go get it scanned again, and find out what code you are getting, and then find out what it means. if you take guesses on what is wrong, then you might end up replacing a ton of stuff that is not the problem.

i had a similar problem... after i installed the check engine light would come on and off periodically.... very rare though, ever since i have removed it i never got the check engine light again, i never worried about it, but my wiring wasnt that great, i always assumed it had something to do with the wiring... but i am not sure

Are you saying that you are getting check engine light with the ShiftPlus turned off? I know that if you put it on setting 2 and get a check engine light, turning off the ShiftPlus will not get rid of the light. You have to turn the car off.

again, just get the code read, and make sure it is related to the shiftplus. what if it has nothing to do with it, and the only reason your cel comes on is because your bank 1 o2 sensor is messed up. or something else?
