im in the process of doing my nvg tranny swap and im still without a front mount for the nvg. i did some reading on here and unless im wrong, someone said that shimming the rear mount will make the stock front mount fit, maybe someone whos pysically done the swap can shed some light on this for me, maybe even some pics of the difference in mounts so i see what im u pagainst and maybe i can fab up somehting rather than buying a mount. thanks

you will keep the stock rear mount (one near the firewall) it is going to require shims to work and the front mount is going to have to come from the donor car, also the team green lsd does fit and work very well, something you might want to look in to. also replace all seals before it goes in. and as of right now i dont have a poly mount for the front because it is a lil smaller.
ok thanks bud, makeing a mount isnt a problem, im a cnc machinist so im sure i can fab something up if need be. the rar mount ill make out of somrething solid aswell because the stock one in my car has gone soft and worn out, lol.
thanks for the info ill look into the lsd, i was thinking of getting one for next year from the same guy who did killerquad4's car

Yeah, the rear one works fine with a lil shimming with some washers. For the front, you defiantely need the one from the donor car.

cool thanks man, problem is the donor car wasn't around when i bought the tranny and now i cant find a mount for it, what makes it worse is the local auto parts places are having a hard time tracking it down, lol.
do you guys have pics of the two mounts so i can see jut whats different about the 2, maybe it ll even help me fab up something at work or at least start to fab something that might be a little more friendly to a urethane bushing from a 2.4 tranny or even a hockey puck or something to stiffen it up a little

if you make a solid front mount or even make a mount where it wouldnt require the spacers i would buy one. it would make it 100 times better if you could make a urethane insert much like the prothane ones i have one designed on emachineshop
id probably make the insert out of aluminum or even a 2 piece aluminum that have bolts that tie it together, something along those lines. problem is i cant find a mount anywhere new or used and gm wants way too much cash. if aynone has a front nvg mount they want to sell, i dont care about the condition please let me know

so it turns out that gm has discontinued this thing and now its gonna be a real hassle to find one. if anyone has an old one ,i dont care about the condition of it send it my way please, ill pay you for it, or maybe we can work somehting out where i make you a completely solid unit in return for you providing me with one. email me if you have one turbocav@hotmail.com
