I know its not a J-Body, but I figured one of you might know whats going on. Its a 1995 Corsica, its very hard to explain what it does but ill give it my best. The car will shift, but most of the time will not go into a gear, it will stay in park no matter where you move the shifter to. Now if it does not go in gear right off the bat I can put it in neutral(park b/c at this point it wont shift) and if I rev it to about 1500/1700rpm's and then shift into drive sometimes it will click right in. It wont slam in but it just shifts in. On the same note it is very hard to get it to go into reverse, the car decides when it wants to do that.
I check out the tranny looks like the shifter is moving but im not sure what is wrong with it, if it is any help before this all happened every time it went into reverse it would make a clicking sound. I was told by a 'mechanic' "its something caught in the front brakes" and the whole time I said it was the tranny, Oh well.
Any info would be great, what should I look for etc?
Thank you
Jason
