Winter transmission stiffness?
Friday, December 02, 2005 9:06 AM
I have always parked my 03 cav in the winter. Its a 5speed... well now that it is winter i have noticed that the stick is super stiff. It is around -20C outside.

Could this be because i have not replaced the transmission fluid before, the car has 25,000kms on it ?

Will synthetic fluid help this ???

Or is this simply the way it is when it is cold outside?

Thanks

I just put some B&M Trick Shift Synthetic in mine and I love it. It shifts so smooth now and does not get stiff in the cold weather. I have tried Mobil 1 Synth., GM Synchromesh, and a few other brands and the Trick Shift is the best, but make sure its the Synthetic one. You can buy it at Summitracing
