Hey guys I just came across a Ecotec motor at a local yard for $600 and I'm on a tight budget so I was wondering if the Ecotec will bolt up to my 2nd gen 5sp. from a 2.2? I really don't want to swap tranny cuz I've already got an upgraded clutch in this one. Any info would be helpful..and if I do need a new 5spd. for the Ecotec does anyone got one for sale dirt cheap?

The answer is no. They are total 2 different motors the tranny would connect to it also the ECOTEC came with a Getrag transmission...I think a 2nd gen tranny is an Isuzu but not sure.
