i have a 99z24 on 6 psi everything stock but the turbo, would an fmu help or no?
You're definitely going to want to pick up an FMU and possibly even a wideband if you don't know your a/f ratio. Fuel is one of the most important parts of a boost project.
Blown.
it is the SOLE PART OF A TURBO PROJECT........
turboing your car is essentially just RAMMING more air into the combustion chamber......
without the PROPER mixture of fuel and air (since there is way more air, there needs to be way more fuel)...... your car will go BOOM like it did last time !!!
GET AN FMU, AFPR and some injectors....
and tune it and forget about it !!

talking about FMU ....
Racing Fuel Injection Pressure Regulator; Adjustable from 25 to 85psi working pressure 2 ports, ¼ inch NPT 1/8th inch vacuum port. 10 : 1 rate of gain on boosted applications. Needle bleed off valve allows for adjustment of "rate of gain" on boosted applications.
Will this fit ???? (is that a FMU or FPR???)
Adjustable from 25 to 85psi
is 85 enough?
why not just buy an 8-1 fmu, what u just described sounds like one of those super fmu's that has a fuel pressure regulater built in it too.

Well, what if he needs 6:1, or 7:1, or 6.5:1, or 9:1, or 11:1... thats why you don't buy a fixed rate FMU, you can't tailor it to your particular needs.

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
buy a cartech 2025 or 2027 cheap on ebay, and an afpr
DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
but I want to know if the FMU mentionned up is the same thing as the cartech and if : Adjustable from 25 to 85psi is enough... I have a good deal for this, but I won't buy it if it doesn't do the job...

I know what your saying and it definitally makes good sense but he is running no fmu or other fuel management and an 8-1 would be a good ballpark one and he can adjust it lower by bleeding boost enough not to max out the fuel pump like a 12-1 would at very low psi. i used to use an adjustable cartech unit and it worked great for my application until i wanted more boost , then i went with an extra injector setup.
the right way for him to do it would definitally be larger injectors, an adjustable fpr, and an fmu, either adjustable or fixed rate with a bleeder.
im planning on a cartech FMU.....but not sure if megasquirt will compensate.....meaning i dont need an FMU if i go meaga squirt....???.....right........mean not to jack the thread or anything just asking while were talking about it.

An FMU isn't needed with Megasquirt but a wideband most definitely is.

The point of an FMU is to supply fuel according to your boost needs. The megsquirt is like a computer (standalone) that will supply it for you, so yes, you don't need an FMU.
Most people call an FMU "the poor mans tuning device" because honestly, standalone is where it's at...atleast for the big boys. For running 200-250 whp, it's good enough.
