I purchased a rebuilt turbo from a reputable company about 7 months ago. Since ive had the turbo on its been having some problems building boost. I always assumed I was leaking exhuast somewhere but never could figure it out. I took everything off for about the 4th time and am about to sell it all. While taking pictures of the turbo I noticed some cracks inside the turbine. Then I saw a weld inside the turbine where someone tried to fix the crack a while ago. Is this normal procedure for rebuilding turbos. It just seems pretty half assed to try to weld inside there . Im pissed because of all the time and money I wasted trying to get my car running right. Went through several downpipes. Im not gonna mention the companys name because im waiting to see what there gonna do to fix the situation. Here is a pic of inside the turbine, looking through the t3 flange. You can see the weld bubble on the right. The crack runs all through the turbine, no to much longer and it will about break in two.
wow that sux i dont think thats part of a rebuild. It kinda looks like a SSautochrome but atleast they weld instead of glue hahaha i dont kwno what to tell you.
Thanx Charles
