the car im getting has 128,xxx miles, with the proper maintence and tuning, and keeping boost low would this be able to support a turbo,or should i save up and get a lower mileage engine too?? if i do that then it would be alot longer before i can get the turbo done

I'd say as long as you've taken care of that engine with proper maint. I don't see a problem with it. LIke 98redcav said as long as you don't go crazy with the boost

**changes are here**

depends... Check the compression. If it is low, then you know you need to rebuild before getting the turbo. If the compression is well above minimum specs then your fine.

Compression tests can't tell you if you have a weak bearing, bad spot in an oil pump, weak rod, etc, so I wouldn't say thats the definitive test.

168,000 miles... My compression was 210psi in every cylinder, pre-turbo. Boosted fine for a month or so (10psi, stock internals). Then, at high RPMs one day, POP went the head gasket (or at least I think that's what it is). I'm about halfway into finding out what the exact problem is, but from all the symptoms, it seems to be the head gasket. Too many irons in the fire at the moment, so I don't have a lot of time to work on it. We'll find out soon!
