Is this engine kit good for 15 psi

I will have to buy some eagle rods seperate. I have never built a 4 banger, they have always been v8s. Is this a good price? Will it hold up to 15 psi of boost? I am looking at the 2.4L LD9 kit.

your still leaving the weakest part that would ruin your investment in rebuilding a motor. I would consider a 2.3 oil pump conversion. thats what im doing when i rebuild.

Im not so sure I want to get rid of the balance shafts. They put them in the engine for a reason.

well theres always the jbp oil pump..... I know theres a few with it in there 2.4s but I personally will be getting rid of the balance shafts in favor of a better oiling system...... besides if you get everything balanced theres no need for them....... there just there to rid of the unwanted vibrations to keep the car comfortable.

is ther a good write up on the conversion that contains pictures? I know of the NYJbody write up, but I would like to see some pics of this being done.

I dont see any rods in there, I would highly suggest not using your stock rods if you want to throw 15 psi at it. even IF they could handle that, why bother risking it?

ehhh wouldnt you want to lower compression for such a high amount of boost? 9.5:1 is the lowest they offer, and thats what your engine already is.

you can run 20psi with 12:1 compression. It all comes down to how well you tune the car.

im thinking of buying the 2.4 engine kit for my rebuild, would the 9:5:1 be good for 7psi on gm s/c and 55-75 shot of nitrous on msd II?

Everyone is making valid points but what some of you are neglecting to mention is that 15 psi on one turbo isn't 15 psi on another turbo. Saying "I want my motor to handle X psi" is pointless to say without mentioning what type of turbo you are running. We don't know if you're using a tiny T3 turbo on 15 PSI or a T4 on 15 PSI...there is a major difference.

Basically what you're saying is too general.

It looked like a good kit until I seen they didn't offer the 9:1 Compression pistons for the 2.4L
