Im rebuilding a 95 2.2 motor to turbo, and i have a few questions about the whole set up. yes i know ill probably will get flamed, but im a newb to the whole sportcompact performance scene.
- after the rebuild and durin the break in period, should i do it under boost, and if so how much should be applied. if not when is the earliest that i can bring in the boost?
- for the oiling system, where do most of u all have the pressure line commin from the motor goin to the turbo?
i know that ill have more questions along the way and ne extra info besides what is in the stickies would be greatly appreciated. thanks for all the info.

Actually this has nothing to do with your questions but I wanted to ask you this...
In case you didn't know, you have side feed injectors on your OHV. There isn't any aftermarket injectors really available for them. Were you planning on doing an conversion to top feed? I mean, if you're going to boost a good amount of power, you'll need some bigger injectors...just curious at what you were going to do.

i was unaware of that, im just now starting to do my plannin and getting every thing ready to do it, but im not sure if i wanna turbo my 2.2 or just swap a 3800 s/c in this spring. but since theres no market for bigger injectors for my setup, couldnt i just add another injector in my intake tube? if not, what all would i have to do to set it up to being a top feed?

Top feed conversion....hmm....I would say either do an extensive search in the Performance forum because I know it's been talked about there OR you can make a new post there and hopefully someone can help you out.
A 3800 S/C doesn't sound bad right about now

You're welcome.
Just remember to save up as much cash as you can cause they are usually very pricey to do a swap over to a S/C 3800.

Saving $10k might take you a little while. But you'll have lots of time to think about how it will / might not be worth it to you

where did you get 10k from ???
NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THAT PRICE......
$5700 CDN installed running ........auto......... from a shop
I have pics of a guy in Quebec $5750 CDN installed......
I can get a series 2 3800 s/c MOTOR for $1000 CDN ......... then I need a Custom flywheel $600 and a new stronger clutch $400 ........ and a hoist..... which I also have ...... so far the total cost IF YOU DO THE SWAP YOURSELF is only around $2000 in parts...... the rest would be just labour................LABOUR IS EXPENSIVE
HIGH mechanical skills are needed for the installl due to the welding of the mounts...etc....making a CUSTOM wiring harness
so 10k ??? HUH HELL NO....

Yea, u and raven are the ones i got the ideal from, i think ur the one i email about parts and a wiring diagram. welding isnt a problem, i use to work for dana welding frames together. and wiring aint really a problem, as long as i know where every thing is suppose to be going. but itll have to wait till i get my bandit trans am most of the way restored ( needing only cosmetic work) to even start to put a 3800 s/c in my car. and yea i to totally disagree with 10k.....
- series 2 3800 - 750 or 150 if i goto a pull it urself
- engine hoist - i have my own
- welder - i have my own
- the flywheel and other stuff shouldnt add up to no 10k
lee, ne other info that u can give me on the 3800 swap would be helpful

No Spotabee I believe it ....................10K from a shop that is supplying the motor... they make profit on EVERY part they sell during the swap.... if you get the motor and the custom flywheel from Racetech Automotive..... you can even use the 5 speed tranny from the 2200... the Getrag I have will bolt up with MY clutch (stage 3) just need the custom flywheel the custom harness and the motor.. weld the mounts..... install the @!#$.... and your done ....... pretty simple..... getting that motor in there .... is hard...... it's a v6.......... NOT TO MENTION YOUR SUSPENSION WILL FOLD under that pressure....the guy I am talking about in Quebec has air ride.... so he just lifts the car back to the height he wants...

If I did a 3800 SC J-car I would use the GTP 4-spd auto and it's inner axles. It'll take the power and it'll like it.
