I found an intake manifold for the ecotec as well as a lot of high performance parts that i havent seen too much of. Says its the same manifold as lisa kubos saturn. Turbo only....

its www.saturnmotorsports.com

look under ION motor...... lots of good stuff.

yeah and it wont fit the cavs or sunfires because the ions are mounted differently, at least I believe so

They are the opposite of the cavi..... the air box is on the passanger side..... for turbo though it MIGHT work... but LOTS of fabbing and stuff for the i/c pipes to fit etc.... would need to be done ...

umm that manifold pictured isnt teh same one for the ecotec....if you notice it has the injector bosses mounted on the plaenum where ours are on the head

oh and btw saturn engine bays are bigger

Nope, he's wrong. Did you even look at the picture? It doesn't matter what side the stock intake box is on, this is a new intake MANIFOLD! Look at the photo! It places the throttle body on the DRIVER side of the engine.

You aren't thinking, are you? It has injector bosses so you can do a dual stage setup, which is what all the NHRA cars are doing, and have been since the beginning. That manifold IS for the Ecotec.

And that there is the one concern about using this for a j-body. There is no way to tell without measurement data if this might hit the radiator support. My hunch is it probably will fit, but I wouldn't bet the bank on it.

forget the rad support it may well be rubbing on the underside of the hood... but yeah, i love the posts about the saturn ecotec being "mounted differently" just because the airbox is on the opposite side.... The ion uses the same intake manifold and the engine is still mounted with the belts on the passenger side. All you would need for this manifold is a turbo setup, a bigger throttlebody, and an upper intercooler pipe fabbed to fit it. That is... IF it clears the rad support and hood.

if that manifold placed the tb on the drive side then the injectors would be facing UPWARDS.... NEVER seen that before.....the fuel rail would be UNDERNEATH the intake mani .............. but thats just me.... oh and I DID look at the picture!!!

yeah that thing wont fit the ecotec Jay, I dont know how often you look under a cavalier hood compared to an ION hood or not but umm... no room for us...

what the hell are you talking about? Do you have a right hand driver cav or something? If that manifold got put on an eco, with the throttle body on the driver side, the injectors would be on the TOP, FACING DOWN like every other manifold. The problem is that unlike the stock manifold which slopes down in the front, this one slopes up, which will most likely collide with the hood.

And thats what I said.... it most likely won't fit, but not for the reasons that some people were saying... The AIRBOX location had nothing to do with it as the TB is in the exact same spot on the stock ion mani as it is on the cav. And just fyi, i do regular maintenance on an Ion, it may have more room, but its not all that much more.

the intake is on the front of the motor , NOT ON THE BACK LIKE SOME OUT OF DATE MOTORS , ahahhahahahaa

the tb will be on the drivers side and the fuel stuff will be on top , on the eco
