2003 turbo cav
alright here's the deal:
the boost controller is fixed (i hooked the wires up to the solenoids backwards
). our base run with the controller set at 12psi was good but was a little leaner than we wanted. so i swapped the injectors with srt-4 stage 3 injectors (with spacers). then came the tweaking, these injectors flow about 62lbs dynamic (about twice what the saabs do). in the end, we ended up backing the fmu all the way out and set the afpr really low (can't remember to what exactly). the car ran consistent 287-292hp at about 16psi with a/f 10.0 across the whole board (rich and safe) and egt's below 700C (1292F), we got 30+ pulls in.
couple of side notes:
-we tried to lean the a/f out to atleast 11s but it wasn't happening.
-we opened the cutout to get some before and after results. after the cutout was opened the car started to boost faster. also, on the first pull with the cutout opened it blew a charge pipe off.
-we opened the boost controller all the way up to 20psi to see what would happen. the car hit about 19.3psi and pulled timing so hard that it flat lined the power at about 5k.
sweet!
I work on Wall Street, but didn't force you to take out a loan you couldn't afford.
Wow nice work. Thats a lottt of pulls

thanks! yea we couldn't get enough of the cav on the dyno. they were getting alot of good readings from the data logger and were very impressed with stock computer's adaptability and response.
nice numbers man, sooo close to 300w its not even funny.
very impressive
What were you using for managment besides the fmu?

yea that was my goal for today, but im happy with 292

just the fmu and the afpr. some type of management is next on the list (i don't think i can wait too much longer for hptuners.)
you getting the P0172 code at all?

not sure what that code is. they hooked up a obII reader and it showed codes for refrigerant and voltage. i didn't look too deep into any of these because it's dealing with the a/c being taken off and O2 sensor (probably from running rich).
yo zach, them some damn nice #s

thanks guys.
paul, i hope you're for helping out with the clutch and flywheel this friday
Very nice numbers but that 10.0:1 air/fuel is kinda scarey, its probably time for a oil change.

Oddly enough the SRT4 guys aim for 10.0.
O noes!
That's on the stock engine?
Very nice.

thanks. yea, we tried to raise it to atleast 11, but i need some software. when we added more boost the car retarded too much timing. we tried lowering the fuel, but it the injectors didn't really care
so im waiting.

ironic.

DAMN ZACH!!!!...i don't think my Charger is gonna be able to keep up with you.....and i'm pretty sure you passed Casper and Brad.....most def gotta roll to the track next season and see what you do.....i wish i had some wheels so i could go and help you out....come get my azz!!!.....hehehe..great numbers man.......gona need your help with an install in the near future

I don't see why. That's a bit too rich. You should be at about 11:1 at full boost with max timing.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
The 172 code is for system too rich, im not near as rich as you and i cant get rid of the code

Those are kickass numbers. I am very impressed. Congrats.

Sweet numbers!! I checked through your profile but didn't see the type of system or kit you are running...maybe it's custom built?? Care to share what you are running? I've not followed your build up so I'm a bit behind!
An fmu and afpr ran that thing huh? Is the computer different on the 03s vs the 02s? Maybe it was your set up...not seen some one run those kinds of numbers with success like that!
Time to start thinking about some internals too! Congrats and look forward to seeing your times at the track!
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
