Well I have finally broke down and I am posting pictures of my toy. I have been playing with it for sometime now and "should" be done this weekend, However we all know how that goes. I don't think I have really posted any pictures of it since it was in 2003 SEMA and ironically here it is the 05 SEMA.
Unfortunently I couldn't make this years but instead I suppose I will share a shot of what I have been doing in my 5 minutes of free time everyday. I must say my brain hurts trying to figure out all the little details and what not that come along with building these toys we love, our J-Bodies. I hope you guys enjoy the pic, it's been a long while coming.

Wow...that's an impressive and very clean turbo setup. What turbo is that?

saturn 5speed turbo 8psi

looks like a cavconn setup with new charge pipes...turbo is .48/.50 T3 or something?(compressor looks really small). How much boost? how much juice? have you atually sprayed it yet?

I love it.

DAMN ALAN, that look way sweet, finnaly glad to see some pics of that, i know youve been working on it forever. whats with the orange though? i dont get it. what PSI is it running at? any idea of numbers its putting down. oh, and who's booth is it at this year at SEMA? sorry to ask so many questions.
Sigga what?
WoW, that is seriously seriously clean. I do think there's maybe one or two wires/lines that could hidden but my gosh this is sexy.
I don't feel like taking out my engnie and sandblasting everything and getting most of the things in their coated. If it could happen in one day I'd do it but that's not happening!
Good work man! Now pull some crazy numbers on that thing. Look good and be fast.

I'd like to know how much power you put out with that setup, it looks great, Im sure it performs much the same way
good to see some 2200 love... just please tell me its actually going to be hitting a track and not making all that hp just to drive up and down the ramps of a trailer?

I have to commend you man, that engine bay could make a grown man cry. The contrast of colors just absolutely sets it off. It looks like you car is a little more show oriented, so allow me to say that popping open your hood should strike fear into the hearts of your competitors at the shows!

My 2200 wants to hump your 2200.
Man I wish I would have seen your setup before I did my intercooler piping. That looks sweet. I wasent sure how to run mine so I did this.
ken that setup doesn't look too bad either, its just a bit longer then it needs to be.
I never thought of doing it your way either, so I did mine like adlers (clock the cold side down)
I was going to clock down but the turbo I am using is really FAT and I cant get a pipe up to it. Its hard to explain. But I wanted to go that route?
Quick questions for you guys(Not to jack) but what size pipes are you using. I did all 2" But I was told if I change my piping after the intercooler to 2 1/2, I would notice a big gain.
So I would hae 2" to the intercooler, and 2 1/2 coming out.
my engine is pissing me off
it taps like a mofo for no reason now. the oil never got below the top THE TOP hatch mark on the dipstick, and installing the roller rockers made my valve tap go away completely... then get HORRIBLY WORSE like 5 days later
I'm tired of the problematic OHV. Something else is going under my hood. I'm sick of it. I'm sorry to be a traitor all of a sudden to everyone... I'll always have love for the OHV but less than a year ago the head warped and it took me forever to fix.. now the bottom end needs attention or something in the valvetrain and I don't feel like pulling my hair out to track it down I want a motor that I can beat the @!#$ out of and have it be able to keep its @!#$ together.
I dont' want to have a 15second car that needs its engine rebuilt every winter (what I have right now)
I smell a motor swap.
check my registry guys .....
notice the charge pipe coming from the turbo going over the intake and down under the car....... I am swapping out my fan for a more practical unit..... then clocking my turbo to face down and loosing about 5' of piping....... I can't wait.....and ya i mean 5 FEET.......
KEN2.2......
using bigger charge piping you will notice a difference..... however from what research I've done, not a good difference...... larger pipe.... larger space to fill before your intake system is pressurized............... and thus your intake manifold seeing boost much later......................
giving v8's a chance........... your FORCED induction.... forcing the air into a smaller space is better..... thus FORCED induction............ 2" is great... I'm using 2" and I see 10.5 psi so fast............... I don't give v8's a chance........oh ya ... on stock internals......

Depending on which manifold you have, you shouldnt have a problem clocking the outlet of the compressor housing down. I think it looks better that way, and it is easier to work on the car without having piping in your way.
I have 2.5 inch piping.
275hp & 306tq - 1999 2.2 ohv

looks like the intercooler piping from jtuners, very nice

I agree with you Adler.....I have 2.5 piping on all charge pipes....Mine is clocked down too....I also was able to keep my battery and washer reservoir too....I like the pics of the original posters engine bay, VERY clean, but there also some things I dislike, like the metal strapping holding the FMU and the PCM....I also dont like how the FUSE/RELAY box is moved......Overall I like it, but I would have kept it more functional like keeping the washer reservoir....
